Sail plans are the layout of sails on the vessels masts. It is the sail plan that gives the vessel its type, for example "Sloop", "Brig" or "Bark". Sails ae either square - that is they hang from a horizontal yard hung across the mast, or fore and aft - they ae tiangular and are suspended along the length of the vessel from bow to stern.
This list is not exhaustive and does not cover all possible sail plans that were ever used at the time, only those we currently plan on implementing. This page will be expanded with images showing the sail plans and screenshots depicting them in game as these assets become available from the development team but until that is possible they are brief explanations of the sail plans and thier stengths and weaknesse.
